The generalized second law of thermodynamics with Barrow entropy

چکیده
Abstract We investigate the validity of generalized second law thermodynamics, applying Barrow entropy for horizon entropy. The former arises from fact that black-hole surface may be deformed due to quantum-gravitational effects, quantified by a new exponent $$\Delta $$ Δ . calculate time-variation in universe filled with matter and dark energy fluids, as well corresponding quantity apparent horizon. show although case =0$$ = 0 , which corresponds usual entropy, sum enclosed plus itself is always non-decreasing function time thus thermodynamics valid, this not true anymore, violated, depending on evolution. Hence, order have violation, deformation standard Bekenstein–Hawking expression should small expected.

Measuring the Entropy and Testing the Second Law of Thermodynamics
Evidence implies that basic laws of thermodynamics must be tested by experiments. In this paper, an experiment is designed to measure the entropy of a system with at least one known (measurable) equation of state, especially the gas systems. Since the entropy can be measured now, the formulae related to the second law of thermodynamics can be examined by other experiments.
متن کاملRadiation Entropy Bound from the Second Law of Thermodynamics
It has been suggested heuristically by Unruh and Wald, and independently by Page, that at given energy and volume, thermal radiation has the largest entropy. The suggestion leads to the corresponding universal bound on entropy of physical systems. Using a gedanken experiment we show that the bound follows from the Second Law of Thermodynamics if the CPT symmetry is assumed and a general conditi...
متن کاملGravitational Entropy and the Second Law of Thermodynamics
The spontaneous violation of Lorentz and diffeomorphism invariance in a phase near the big bang lowers the entropy, allowing for an arrow of time and the second law of thermodynamics. The spontaneous symmetry breaking leads to O(3, 1) → O(3) × R, where O(3) is the rotational symmetry of the Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker spacetime. The Weyl curvature tensor Cμνρσ vanishes in the FLRW space...
متن کاملEntropy Generation in Computation and the Second Law of Thermodynamics
Landauer discussed the minimum energy necessary for computation and stated that erasure of information is accompanied by heat generation to the amount of kT ln 2/bit. Modifying the above statement, we claim that erasure of information is accompanied by entropy generation k ln 2/bit. Some new concepts will be introduced in the field of thermodynamics that are implicitly included in our statement...
متن کاملA Guide to Entropy and the Second Law of Thermodynamics
T his article is intended for readers who, like us, were told that the second law of thermodynamics is one of the major achievements of the nineteenth century—that it is a logical, perfect, and unbreakable law—but who were unsatisfied with the “derivations” of the entropy principle as found in textbooks and in popular writings. A glance at the books will inform the reader that the law has “vari...
